From the Portrait Photography Workshop - Burlesque Dancer

The portrait photography workshop is great fun and and you get to learn new techniques on lighting, posing, image constuction and also on building a rapport with your model. In this shoot we used a fabulous model Lola who is also a burlesque dancer, as you can see the dark coloured feather fans worked perfect. One of the techniques we worked on in this workshop was how to use coloured gels to add atmosphere to a portrait. Often photograaphers will find they can't get the colours to show up effectively as they 'wash out' this happens primarily when the power of the lights aren't balanced correctly. Essentially when one light is too powerful it washes out the colour from another light, alternatively the coloured light source may be too powerful agaist the other lights and wash itself out (I hope you understand that - if not leave me a comment and I'll get back to you). #portraitphotography #photooftheday #nickgregan #portraitgroup contact @thecameraclubuk for more info

Why Choose A Professional Headshot Photographer

Your headshot is the first impression a Casting Director has of you. A great headshot is what’ll make a Casting Director or an Agent sit-up and take notice of you. It’s your first point of contact and often your only point of contact, so essentially the image has got to grab their attention and hold it. You absolutely can’t take a chance with not impressing them in all the right ways. This is your career you are talking about and the image you want to portray to the industry professionals. My advice is; choose a professional headshot photographer to do the right job for you - but how do you find the right person for you? It can be a tricky question to answer, do you go on recommendation, and do you go for the most expensive person? Or do you simply go for the busiest person because they must be the right photographer? Actually these are all things to consider and that's it, consider. However because the relationship between a headshot photographer and their client is a personal one,
